Absolutely Wonderful!
I was intrigued by this book as it as it features a sea tractor and reminds me of a place I used to go when was a child. The book itself is absolutely terrific - engaging, imaginative, beautifully written and elegantly designed. It effortlessly evokes the wonder and mystery of childhood- when summer seemed to go on forever and seaside trips were like adventures to exotic far a way lands. Both my children ( boys aged 3 and 5) really enjoyed it and it helped speed along the dreaded " getting them off to bed" routine. I looked on Maverick's website to see if Loretta D'Souza and Ewa Poklewska had written anything else and was surprised to discover that this is their debut effort. I hope its the first of many and would thoroughly recommend this book to everyone who has kids or is young at heart.

An excellent holiday read for the kids this summer...

"This book is fantastic, my son absolutely loves it! The story and characters were very easy for him to follow and the bright pictures also kept him very interested. I also like the fact that the story has a message to children about the dangers of playing on a beach at high tide which is very important. We hope that Sonny has many more adventures in the future."

My nephew's favourite book...EVER!!!!
"My nephew Adam can't get enough of Sonny and his friends. He especially looks out for one particular page when Netty is trapped in the castle. He suddenly looks concerned and desperately wants to find out what happens next. Then he slams his little hand down and demands 'Read!'"
